RAFT Zero Carbon Action Builder

RAFT are delighted to have been selected by Ashden LetsGoZero, as one of five incredible projects to receive £100k grants. Our new platform will integrate our deep retrofit experience within an accessible, easy-to-use & scalable tool empowering schools & school-estates toward practical & outcome-led action. We are expecting to launch the Action Builder in late Spring 2025. We will update this page and our social media with launch information. You can also email us to be the first to know about the launch and ask any questions:

The RAFT Zero Carbon Action Builder is a practical, easy-to-use, web-based tool which will enable schools to:

  • understand their buildings and building energy use by entering data about the school

  • identify relevant efficiency decarbonisation measures from quick low-cost wins to capital works

  • select measures for action

  • research, validate and make informed decisions

  • plan develop and manage projects

  • track and report on progress

  • optimise funding opportunities

  • share and engage with their communities throughout

RAFT is one of five organisations across the UK that will receive £100,000 to boost green measures and reduce carbon emissions in schools. RAFT will use the £100,000 grant over the coming year to develop the Zero Carbon Action Builder - an accessible, easy-to-use and scalable platform to help UK schools to act now towards efficient, zero carbon buildings.

“We are absolutely delighted to have been selected by Ashden LetsGoZero, as one of the vital projects they feel will most make a difference in helping schools in their ambitious and challenging decarbonisation journeys”

Other winners include: Eco-Schools: Count Your Carbon Playground; Shropshire Good Food Partnership: School Food Web Climate Action; Students Organising for Sustainability (SOS-UK): Fund The Future, Teach The Future; and Brighton & Hove City Council: Our Schools Our World.

The announcement by Let’s Go Zero – the campaign uniting schools across the UK to be zero carbon by 2030 – comes as schools are being given a higher focus by policymakers for being ‘the change we want to see’ in communities finding ways to be more energy efficient, nature-friendly and on the road to zero carbon.
